At Waseca Public Schools, we believe in the power of music to enrich lives and build a strong community. If you’re a 5th or 6th grader (or even younger!), now is the perfect time to explore the exciting world of music and join our band programs.

How to Get Involved: Our music department offers a variety of opportunities to start your musical journey. Whether you’re interested in joining the beginning band or learning an instrument through our junior high programs, we’ve got you covered! Starting in 5th grade, students have the chance to pick up an instrument and begin their musical training with guidance from experienced instructors.

Choosing Your Instrument: Not sure which instrument to choose? Don’t worry—we’re here to help! We provide information and support to help families and students make informed decisions about which instrument will be the best fit. Whether you dream of playing the trumpet, flute, percussion, or any other instrument, there’s something for everyone.

By getting involved early, you’ll be part of an amazing band program that will grow with you, from your first notes to performing with the Marching Jays, jazz bands, and beyond. Plus, you’ll become part of a supportive and fun community that will cheer you on every step of the way.
